CPO Classes

Pool and Spa Operators

Randell’s Pool Service has offered certified pool operator (CPO) classes since 2007, a service you don’t find with every pool company. These classes are taught by a certified instructor. In these pool operator classes, you will learn pool and spa chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance, how to use automatic feeding equipment, government requirements, and more. You will then complete a written examination to receive your certification, which is valid for five years. CPO certification is required in the state of Utah for commercial pools.

How to Earn your CPO Certification

CPO Certification training is offered in two formats for busy professionals:

  1. A two-day course in a classroom setting
  2. The blended approach: Pool Operator Primer online class
followed by Pool Operator Fusion one day in classroom learning.

CPO Certification requires successful completion of classwork and exam. Both formats include the chief industry resource PHTA Pool & Spa Operator handbook, also available in Spanish.

One Certification has Achievement Written All Over It

Why a CPO Certification?

The PHTA Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification is recognized by local and state authorities as the most widely-accepted, verifiable pool and spa training credential. Each year, more than 30,000 professionals learn how to more efficiently operate safer aquatic facilities with this program. The CPO Certification is valid for five years. This is an approved National Environmental Health Association course which will earn you 16 CEUs.

The CPO Certification course will help you understand how to:

  • Operate a pool more easily and efficiently – saving time and money.
  • Reduce chemical, electrical, biological, and physical hazards – protecting users and employees.
  • Comply to key safety regulations – reducing liability and risk of closure.
